Jmailman update v0.4 now available.
  • Major improvement in frontend is ability to allow admin users to manage other email addresses.
  • Backend now allows you to test the list parameters you have entered.
  • Fixed reported problem with some combinations of Mailman and server returning page files in slightly different format.

You can now set a parameter in the backend which will allow users at publisher level or above (configurable) to be abe to enter an email address other than their own. This is useful if you have two or more maillists (perhaps a news and a discussion list) as you can now add or delete a user to all lists at the same time instead of having to log in to all the Mailman admin screens separately.

 

The admin user can enter any valid email address - not only those of registered users. Be aware that if you enable this feature you are effectively giving admin access to your Mailman lists to your Joomla Admins.

On the backend admin screens you can now see the constructed url to access the list and test it - find those missing backslashes Smile

There had been some problems with some versions of Mailman and Apache returning pages with "%40" instead of "@" in email addresses which caused both the reporting and the actions to fail. This should now be fixed.

Remember when configuring your menu entry to select the Jmailman - default type. The dosubs and frontadmin view types will not work as  menu items and someday I'll figure out how to stop them appearingin the list.

Please either email me direct or use the new support forum on this site in case of problems. I still regard this as a not fully tested and stable release - but I am using it on an important client site so it can be too bad.
